Preparing for retirement is not Enough! Know the 4 stages in life that needs preparation!
We have all heard it, "Prepare for your future", "Save money for your future needs.", "To have a comfortable life, save money and do business." Yes, these are common sayings from our parents, relatives and people who are older than us.
These are correct but not enough, it is not enough just to save for the future and surely not enough just to save for RETIREMENT! There are actually stages in our life that we have to prepare for and here they are:
The NOW
We have to prepare for our present needs. I am not talking about just getting a job, I am talking about building your wealth now so that you can enjoy it. You can use these for your marriage, children's education, comfort, luxury, you name it. HOW? By doing business! You cannot just invest in the stock market or mutual funds and expect to enjoy it few years after, these are meant to be long term and 5 or 10 years is not long enough.
Build your wealth NOW by doing business, you can do buy and sell, open a restaurant, be a free lance writer, photographer, do what you love that will earn you money, turn it into a business and start building your wealth now! My personal recommendation is becoming an IMG broker, you get to deal with financial products from mutual funds to insurance to real estate. It is easy to start and you can work on your free time!
The FUTURE
Otherwise known as our retirement. While we can still earn money and work, save up some of the money earned and put it in the stock market or mutual fund.
Please, do not expect your children to support you when we retire. I am not being mean but what I am trying to say is that our children soon will have their own life and family. Let them enjoy their lives and let them live it. Imagine if you have a lot of money for retirement, you could travel the world and even treat your children. :)
My personal recommendation would be the mutual funds, high in return and saves you the time and hassle in trading. Experts in this field will be the one actually doing that for you. You just sit back and relax while you earn money.
PASSING
Everyone will eventually enter this stage whether we like it or not. Let us not burden our family members with this by investing for this. There are life plans out there that would cater to this but I have something better. Instead of buying the Life Plan, invest it in the Bond Fund. Why? Bond Funds would normally earn around 2% to 8% a year. Let us say that you invest 1000 Pesos every month for this and the bond fund would earn at least 4% on average per year. After 35 years you will have 913 thousand! Not bad.
With that money, I am sure that we can buy a better coffin and have a better resting place.
AFTER LIFE
Our preparation does not stop at the PASSING. After we pass away, we still have family members left behind. Our children, their children and their children's children. The generation goes on. Our job while we are still alive is to create wealth, wealth that would last even if we are gone so that we could pass this to our loved ones. Don't be selfish, let your next generation enjoy a good life too! :)

Unbelievable act of Forgiveness
Forgiveness - how easy could you forgive someone? It's difficult right? Don't worry, you are not alone. Forgiveness is never easy, if it was, then we would have world peace at this time. And I have something to share with you, it shocked me the 1st time I saw it, it also encouraged me to forgive.The STORY
Gary Ridgway, a known serial killer in the US, admitted to the killing of 71 women and 49 of them were already identified as his victims. He was sentenced to life for 480 years.When he was interviewed back on 2001, he mentioned that he killed so many that he lost count of it. Most of his victims were either prostitutes or runaways.
He would pick up women and strangle them, throwing the bodies on the woods and would go back to them to have sexual intercourse. One of his victims was the very young Linda Rule who was just 16 years old.
Act of Human Kindness
Gary was apprehended on November of 2001 and he was put on a trial. Ridgway confessed to the killings and a verdict was given to him.
On the court trial, family members of the victims were present and as expected, a lot of the family members damned Ridgway. They wished for him to suffer so much is as if they wanted him dead. Who could blame them, for what he has done, who wanted him alive?
But not this man, Robert Rule stood and exactly did the opposite. Check this video out.
How far could you go and forgive someone? For Mr. Rule, he did something that no one did in that courtroom.
Why? Because he believed in God. He believed in forgiveness.
Matthew 18:21-22
21 Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
Does anyone need your forgiveness? If Mr. Rule can forgive his daughter's killer, then you can forgive too! It may not be instant but work on it, don't hurry it up. Forgive and start making, if not the world at least yourself better.

The Old Guy that Made Millions
I have often heard that when your old, it's too late. It is too late to get rich, it is too late to be successful, it is to late to do business, a lot of things are becoming too late!Financially, we should start early so that we could reach our goals on time but being old does not mean that it is hopeless.
It's not too late!
At the age of 40, Harland David Sanders had a small service center (gas station) and was cooking food for travelers too. He would cook his chicken with his secret recipe and served this to travelers. Later on, people would go to his service station not for petrol, but for his food.
His business boomed so much that he purchased a new place which could house 142 people and served his fried chicken.
But his fortune ran out, around 1950, an interstate bypass was built and this bypass completely bypassed his town and his restaurant. He went bankrupt, sold his restaurant and paid off his debts.
Together with his wife, they traveled to many restaurants to make business with them. His term was that he would give his secret recipe and in return, for every chicken sold, he would get 5 cents each.
Amazingly a lot of restaurants rejected his offer, according to other sources, he got rejected 1009 times. At the age of 65, that is not easy to take. But Col. Sanders was something else, he still continued to market his recipe.
Finally, he got his YES, and the rest is history. His recipe was so successful that his restaurant is a world wide franchise known as KFC.
It's now or Never
If Col. Sanders gave up at the age of 65 and just decided to live by his Social Security paycheck, then we would never taste and know KFC. If he had the mindset of "I am old and cannot work" he would never be a big success!
What is important is that we should BEGIN doing what we should do to reach our dreams. We should start achieving it. Starting something and taking the risk is better than doing nothing at all.
You want to get rich? Start now! Want a successful business? Make it happen and start now! Do you want a healthy family relationship? Start doing it now. Make things happen, don't wait for things to happen.
Just like Col. Sanders, before that YES and before that success, he had to endure so much pain but at the end, it all went well, if not for all the pain, KFC would not be born.
Start creating your success, start enduring the pain, at the end, you will be rewarded graciously.

How a Pelengke vendor reached success!
I am certainly almost sure that everyone wants to be successful. We want to be rich, we want to be promoted in our jobs, we want to have a business swarmed by customers everyday, we want to have a strong family, you name it, we want to succeed in all of our dreams.How bad do you want it? How many times have you thought about it? Have you ever imagined yourself on that successful position?
Well let me tell you this, YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL! You can be the person that you have ever wanted in your life, you can reach your dreams!
You know what you need? You just need fuel to keep on going, not the fuel for the cars but something to fuel your desire to be successful.
And that fuel is your WHY. Your WHY is your reason to be successful. Why do you want to get rich? Why do you want to be promoted in your job? Why do you want customers to swarm your business everyday? WHY?
You start with your WHY, make it BIG and you are good to go! Let me tell you a story about a woman who made it big because of her BIG WHY.
Let us call her Julia. Julia had 6 children and only the husband worked. With hubby working it all, they lived a pretty comfortable life.
Unfortunately, hubby got diagnosed with liver cancer. Later on, hubby passed away leaving Julia and her 6 children.
Julia could not get an office work because she does not have any degree. One time, she got a part time job but the pay was not sufficient.
Out of no choice, she had to do business. She teamed up with her mom and her Ninang (Godmother) the supplier. They eventually made a small meat shop in the Palengke.
Long story short, her small time meat shop became very successful and was able to support all her 6 children. All of them finished college and became successful. One of her children is named Dean Pax Lapid, the founder of GO NEGOSYO.
Why did she become successful? She had a very big WHY! Her Why was for her children to finish studying, for her children to be successful, for her children to be well fed and well supported and for the family to survive. These reasons allowed her to keep on going, it fueled her dream to be successful.
Reach your dreams! Fuel it up! Start with your BIG WHY and from there, move forward and do what is needed.
