In the late 1933, a huge earthquake struck Japan and triggered a massive tsunami. In the small town of Fudai, hundreds of homes were destroyed and 439 people were killed.
Mayor Wamura could not believe his eyes. "When I saw bodies being dug up from the piles of earth, I did not know what to say. I had no words." he mentioned.
This triggered his motivation to do the craziest thing the town had never seen before. He started a project, a seawall so big that it would protect the villagers from any tsunami that would strike.
The town started to build a seawall of 51 feet. Another town had a seawall of 33 feet and this was considered to be very strong and is able to withstand any tsunami but Mayor Wamura had something else in mind.
After having erect the 51 foot seawall, Mayor Wamura was not satisfied, he had to build floodgates and it was as big as the seawall!
Here's the thing, everyone thought that it was a crazy idea. A lot of people thought that it was unnecessary for the mayor or the town to have a seawall as big as that!
He was criticized a lot and considered his project a waste of time and a waste of money! Imagine if you are at the town and you are seeing this happening.
Most probably Mayor Wamura heard these lines: "You crazy old man, you don't need that much! You are just wasting our money!" or "Get a life, don't waste your time on this. It won't work and a huge tsunami won't happen!".
Man, it must have been a hard time for Mayor Wamura. Regardless, the project overall was completed on 1994. The total bill was 3.56 billion Yen. (Around 1.25 billion Pesos today! That was so much back in 1994.)
3 years later, Mayor Wamura passed away.

The Unthinkable Happened!
On March 11, 2011. A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 9 shook Japan. The strong earthquake triggered a huge tsunami which took thousands of lives and destroyed hundreds of homes.
In connection with this massive quake, it managed to cause the Fukushima Daichi power plant to have a nuclear meltdown.
Tons of radio active water leaked and was unsafe for the town folks. Every thing was destroyed, communications, roads, power, ports, you name it, it was a huge wreck on that day.
Amidst all the damage, there was this one town that was barely unscathed, you guessed it, it was the town of Fudai. In fact according to news, they barely got wet!
How? It was because of the huge sea wall that was built. The man they doubted, laughed at and maybe considered insane saved their lives.
Today, towns people of Fudai visits the grave of former Mayor Wamura to pay their respects. He is now being considered as the small town hero.
See Yourself in the Future
In life, we have goals, we have plans. We have dreams on who we want to become! This is also called your vision in life because you already see what you want to become in the future.
You see, everyone can be a visionary, it is just so damn hard to reach your vision. A simple goal in life like "I want to get rich" is already a vision of yourself in the future. The question is, are you ready to take what it takes to be rich? To become who you really want to be? To reach your dream?
When you want to reach your vision, you will look weird. You are not the "norm". People will see you overworking yourself. People will think that you are wasting your time and resources. I tell you this, DON'T MIND THEM.
Do what you must to reach your dreams, do everything that you can to reach your dreams and one day, just like Mayor Wamura, you will be a hero to your loved ones.
Start envisioning what you want to be in your life. Act on it, don't delay and don't be scared. You may look weird at first but at the end, all success is just waiting for you there!
God bless you!
God bless you!
